Brilliant trumpeter and dedicated jazz educator, Sean Jones, returns to Detroit leading NYO Jazz Friday, August 5th at Orchestra Hall. NYO Jazz is one of Carnegie Hall’s three acclaimed national youth ensembles giving musicians ages 16-19 a consummate professional rehearsal, recording, performance and touring experience.
Matt Carlson, Senior Director of Communications for Detroit Symphony Orchestra said, “The DSO is thrilled to welcome Carnegie Hall and NYO Jazz to Detroit and to Orchestra Hall for their first U.S. tour. Given Orchestra Hall’s jazz history as the Paradise Theatre and the DSO’s dedication to training the next generation of musicians—particularly through our Civic Jazz program—we can’t wait to hear the best young players in the country on August 5.”
