Join music director/conductor Bill Milicevic and the Rochester Symphony Orchestra in this musical celebration of youth, spring, life. The program begins with Antonin Dvorak’s joyous “Carnival Overture.” Next, in Bedrich Smetana’s “The Moldau,” we cruise the mighty Vltava River past nostalgic scenes of rural Czech life. Ferde Grofe’s “Grand Canyon Suite,” “a musical journey that stirs the soul,” in the words of A. Riggs, fills the second half of the program.
Featured guest artist is violinist Matt Xu, winner of this year’s RSO “Young Artist Competition.” Described by Maestro Milicevic as seasoned and exceptional, Matt studies at the University of Michigan.
Rochester businesses catering to every taste are ready to serve your needs before and after the concert.
