VAE celebrates the Ann Arbor bicentennial with a unique concert that artistically explores the city in the variety of its dimensions, both past and present. Musical offerings will reflect Ann Arbor’s German heritage, its locus as a stop on the Underground Railroad, its role as a hub of sixties protest, and the local composers it continues to foster. With the interweaving of vocal music with poems written in the midst of change, this program will artistically fuse the past with the contemporary in a unique way.
