Our October concert features music and texts describing the fear and thrill of stepping into the Unknown. Works include William Schuman’s Carols of Death (both haunting and reassuring) set to text by Whitman; madrigals, partsongs and motets by Thomas Weelkes, Nico Muhly, Judith Weir, Byrd and Brahms, and Eric Whitacre’s grand Renaissance-inspired Leonardo Dreams of his Flying Machine.
