Swing can be a sweet singer with a tasty small group, a blistering big band, a sublime piano trio, two tenor saxophones pursuing each other riff after riff, a highly syncopated Latin groove, a classic 1940s chestnut, a lusty, blues-based vocalist rocking a gutsy big band, a crystalline vibraphone-based improvisation or a current elegant swing ensemble with inspirations and variations. I would love to have Linda on more than once a week. Great taste and commentary. The Ella special tonight brought back a wonderful memory from @ 50 years ago when I saw Ella live in Copenhagen, and then spent another 2+ hours listening to her group and a a group of Danish jazz artists play and challenge and in general have blast in a local beer basement hall. No one’s voice, clarity, variety and so on better in jazz than Ella.

It could be a literal snow blizzard outside ❄️ raining 🌧 cats & dogs or just a breath of new fresh springtime air no matter anytime of our Michigan years no one brings it as lovely as or as serious as Miss Linda Yohn on The Swing Set I’m glad to be amongst the jazz greats myself but at a lower profile these days this alto 🎷 man never made Broadway but its all good just the same class of 04/23/59!
So really dig this montage of wind instruments give me that trumpet mixed in and Mr. drummer keep that soft touch beat to only enhance these ever so sweet vocals!

Such a nice dedication I cared for my parents who both passed over in 2018 although they were not inflicted by dementia I know from experience how devastating it can be when your loved one loses you while you helplessly have to endure their mind has left 💔
