A Kaleidoscope of Music with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra

A KALEIDOSCOPE OF MUSIC. Join the Rochester Symphony Orchestra with Zeljko Milicevic, music director, as it begins its Sixty-Second Year in Concert. This first concert of RSO’s 2023-2024 season, “Tributes and Tales; Heroes and Dreams,” celebrates heroes both real and legendary. First come patriotic favorites like “Armed Forces Salute,” “Bugler’s Holiday,” and “National Emblem March” for our real heroes. Heroes of myth and imagination are reflected in “Overture to William Tell,” and Grieg’s “Peer Gynt Suite No. 1.” Then follow popular favorites such as Gershwin’s “An American in Paris,” selections from “Mamma Mia,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” and “Satchmo! A Tribute to Louis Armstrong.”

Nestled alongside Paint Creek in downtown Rochester, MI, Rochester’s Municipal Park offers a natural amphitheatre highlighted by Kiwanis’ rustic bandshell. The RSO is presenting this event as a part of Kiwanis’ 2023 “Music in the Park” series. The atmosphere is relaxed, the people are friendly, and the popcorn is fresh. Bring a blanket or chair and even a picnic for an evening of pleasure.
