We are sad to announce Bill McGlaughlin, host of “Exploring Music” has died. Bill was a music educator, composer, conductor and Peabody Award–winning radio host. He passed away July 21st at the age of 82 at his home.
The news was shared by his partner, jazz musician Karrin Allyson. On social media Karrin wrote “It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of my beloved partner, Bill McGlaughlin. In this season of grief, I am grateful for your kindness, your prayers, and the privacy to honor a life deeply loved and forever remembered.”
Bill hosted “Exploring Music” five days a week on 90.9 WRCJ for many years. The daily program explored classical music themes and and often involved Bill sitting at his piano tapping a few notes as he explained the nuances of the composition. He will be missed.
