Please join us Sunday May 17, as the Warren Concert Band (WCB) presents their Annual Side-by-Side concert featuring WCB’s Kingsley Sears Honor Band. This is the fourth concert of its 2025-2026 season and will be held at the Warren Woods Middle School Auditorium.
This concert will have a diverse repertoire that includes pieces by John Philip Sousa, Percy Grainger, and Fischer Tull. Two of the highlights are Capriccio Italien by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Celtic Flutes by Kurt Gable. Celtic Flutes will feature two highly regarded local flutists in the lead roles.
Since 2017, the Warren Concert Band has had over 100 students participate in our Honor Band Program (Side-by-Side) and we are beyond excited to have honor band students again gifting us with their musical talent, playing with our ensemble during this concert – which makes this performance truly unique. This year, over 40 students were nominated by music educators and community musicians, with 15 outstanding students being selected to perform with the ensemble. It’s going to be a real delight to see such a large group of talented musicians on stage performing the challenging program we have in store.
The band will also be presenting scholarship awards to deserving students. A total of $2,100 will be awarded to several students to be used for private instruction, purchasing equipment, materials, repairs or upgrading their primary instrument. The Warren Concert Band is comprised of 75 all-volunteer musicians and is a non-profit organization. Our next performance will be at Belle Isle on Sunset Point, Wednesday, August 5th at 7pm to kick off our Free Summer Concert Series. Donations will be accepted.
