45th Season Benefit Concert for Academy of Early Music at Zion Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor

Join us as we celebrate 45 years of exceptional early music in southeastern Michigan with a special benefit concert! Local early musicians are a vital part of our community, and we’re excited to showcase an impressive assortment of Michigan-based talent as we both honor our past and look to our future. Tickets for this fundraiser are $45.

Serafina – The singers of Serafina came together in 2018 with the focus of lifting up music written by, for, and about women.

L’Invenzione – Founded in 2016, l’Invenzione has drawn on the wonderfully rich music of 17th and 18th Century Naples, the undisputed “capital of the musical world” of that time.

Grail Singers – The Ann Arbor Grail Singers is a women’s chamber ensemble that specializes in music from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods and in contemporary compositions that have an early music sensibility.

Les Écuries du Roy – Founded in 2016 with the purpose of performing the great chamber music literature of the 17th and 18th centuries for winds, Les Écuries du Roy performs the great Baroque solo and trio sonata literature and enjoys highlighting largely unknown repertoire.

Shuntaro Sugie & Phoebe Gelzer-Govatos – Shuntaro Sugie is a musician equally at home on the harpsichord, fortepiano, and modern piano. Phoebe Gelzer-Govatos, historical and modern violinist, performs with a number of orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout the state.

Baroque Chamber Orchestra of the University of Michigan – Led by professors Joseph Gascho and Aaron Berofsky, the Baroque Chamber Orchestra features students of early music.
